I’ve been making a lot of goals for 2010–apparently I’ve got big expectations. Here they are in no particular order:Crazy museum a few blocks from my house. I have no idea what this contraption is.

  1. Run a 5K without dying.
  2. Read the entire New Testament.
  3. Approach 5 stores about carrying my stationery/art (scariest. thing. ever.)
  4. Submit writing to a print publication.
  5. Travel somewhere that is NOT Plano, Texas.
  6. Try to include more regional stuff in this blog–not just pictures of Charlie at an outdoor concert, but pictures of the concert itself. It’s pretty cool around here and I should showcase that every now and then.

Fountain at the park in town–the town is built on a natural spring which is believed to have healing qualities–the Native American girl is reaching out for the water that is bubbling up. One of our neighbors has water that just bubbles up in her backyard.

In addition to these goals, I’m really going to try to focus on celebrating more. I feel like sometimes I let the stress get to me and really, life is good. Celebration is in order.

What are your plans for 2010?

I think I’ve already put this picture up here, but look at the pretty park!

It's awesome that you have goals for next year already. I REALLY think you should approach the stores about your stationary! They HAVE to say yes! :)

    Hugs – Tiffany

  2. My goal is to be a little more focused this coming year on preparing Addy for preschool. She still has trouble with recognizing some of her numbers, and is hesitant about practicing her letters (she knows them all, but I mean practicing writing them) because she's such a perfectionist. She gets upset when they don't look like the example and then just wants to trace! Hmm, perfectionist like MOM perhaps? Sorry kid…

I'd love to have Eli potty trained by the end of next year- seems not overly ambitious, he'll be over three by then, so here's hoping!

Find a way to block off some set, uninterrupted time for chores/cleaning each day so that I'm not just running around the house trying to fit in housework and laundry with childcare. I need to concentrate on one thing or the other!

Read through the Gospels three times. I read the Bible plenty growing up, and still do at least once a week, but sometimes I feel like I forget to focus on Jesus. And lately, when so much doesn't make sense, He's the only thing that still does, so that's what I want to concentrate on!

  3. I'm going to try to do yoga every day. Or maybe every other day. Whatever, I'm just going to try!

Coming back here, for sure, to get even glimpses of Charlie. Definitely better than Flat Stanley.

Blessed Merry Christmas to Bird, Charlie and Charlie's Daddy!

  5. That first picture is a "pedicab" which is hooked up to a bicycle, and a person riding a bike pulls the people sitting in the pedicab. I think pedicab is actually a pejorative term, and the wiki article entry says "cycle rickshaw." I know I didn't leave a list of my goals for 2010, sorry!

  6. Thanks, Anonymous! That place has tons of antique bikes so that makes sense.

  7. For help with #1, may I suggest the Galloway Method. http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/walk_breaks.html
And as for local stuff, have you ever been to Pontchartrain Vineyards? It's right outside of Covington. They do weekend concert series called Jazz n' the Vines that is really laid back and fun. People bring a picnic dinner, lawn chairs, and their kids and listen to music. It's a lot of fun.

Now in return, you have to hassle me on my resolutions, which are to keep running, save money for the wedding, and go to the dentist and eye doctor this year. :)

  8. My goal for 2010 is to learn how to be. Just be. Enjoy life and try to not feel so guilty over the things that I can't control or change.

  9. Aww, nice list.

Have you guys ever been stationed in Barksdale?

  10. Great ideas, Katy! I am just shootin' for getting h.s.ing ready to start in the summer!

What a great idea!! a list of goals. I hope you accomplish all of them.

    Have a Merry Christmas!!
    Big Hugs!

I'm working on Christmas first. Next week I'll tell you what my 2010 goals are! :)

I love your goals, by the way. Especially the one about featuring regional stuff. I LOVED New Orleans and *when* my mom wins the lotto we ARE going to have a vacation home there. :)

  13. I am proud of you Katy! Sad thing is I haven't made ONE goal, ugh! I must do that. I have read the New Testament :)

  14. I need to make some goals…

Is going to Disney on with Charlie on there?

  15. My goal in 2010 is to be more thankful for the things I have, and less focused on the things I can't have.

And I wanna become master of Time, Space and Dimension.

  16. I hear ya on the scariest thing ever goal. But you strike me as someone who can do it. And you have a great product–you'll be doing them a favor by allowing them to sell your stuff!
