Love at First Sight

Today Charlie’s OT brought over this:

I love this thing.

It’s a Gator Walker. Before we had a Rifton Pacer, which looks pretty much the same, but in real life it’s much bulkier and has all these different parts. Charlie would just stand in it completely befuddled. In this contraption he’s getting the picture much quicker. Seriously, I think I have a crush on this thing.

Tomorrow we have an appointment with He Who Loves Baclofen aka our Pysiatrist. I’ll keep you posted. Also, I am now completely reminded of a little tidbit I’ve been meaning to share with you guys. A little while ago, when I was trying to make Charlie’s appointment with the Physiatrist, I couldn’t get the number of his pediatric group to come up, so I just googled his name. Well, wouldn’t you know it, a link to his Facebook page came up and it’s private but I was still able to see what has to be the goofiest picture ever. I laughed for a couple of minutes. You should try it–Google your kid’s doctors. Maybe I’ll enjoy my visit a little more if I just keep picturing him in a funny hat?

So, I’ll let you know how the appointment goes, and I also promise to post some incredibly fabulous Charlie photos I took this weekend. Try not to get too excited.

Aaah, showing an 'attachment' to equipment, Katy! *wink*

I thought it was Botox your physiatrist was pushing. No? Sorry if I am remembering wrong. (I blame my age.)

Looking forward to the video of Charlie using the gator.

  2. WE loved Faith's gator. She has just outgrown it and we are expecting delivery of the bigger crocodile, tomorrow! Faith has had her's for over 3 yrs! The only down side is that it doesn't really fold up well. But the crocodile does so I am hoping for more room in the car! Hope Charlie gets the hang of it quickly and causes all kinds of destruction!!! LOL!

  3. Barbara-
The physiatrist loves Baclofen, which our therapists are very against. The therapists are the ones who are interested in Botox. Hooray for pressure from all sides!

  4. Cool contraption!!

I'm so gonna Google some of my kids' doctors…

Heh. Keep me straight on those two Bs ~ Just googled myself, which I do periodically. I am fortunate that some other BB takes up all the other referral urls on the first page except for my blog. Which is no. 1. Just saying. Barbara

  6. I'm reading in reverse order, I've been swamped.

That is one COOL machine there. I'd use it.

The Saints…wow, I think they are bound for an NFC Championship game versus the Vikings, which will be great for them since though it will be an away game it will be in a dome.

I think this is the Saints best year for a shot at the Super Bowl.

  7. Can you post pics of Charlie in the Gator, or maybe take a video of how he is using it??? My son has the Gator, and is only using it currently as a stander to strengthen his legs…no forward movements yet!!
