Click Your Heels

It would be nice if you could just click your heels and be home, but in real life you have to drive, fly, or walk.

We drove home yesterday and made pretty good time considering all the other people on the road who were also on their way home. We did amazing stuff like showering in our own showers and sleeping in our own beds. Heavenly. Today the Hub is back to work and things seem pretty normal.

Charlie is looking good although he still has the stuffy nose that he had when we started the trip. I’m not completely convinced that he was ever having problems with his shunt. I suspect it was more a case a exhaustion, dehydration, and having people stick you with needles for hours on end. We’re still going to follow up with his home neurosurgeon just to be safe.

Now, I’m going get to work getting my house back in order.

  4. whew! glad you’re back. I’m with you thinking that charlie was more exhausted dehydrated and stressed than anything…those last minute fleeing-your-homeland roadtrips can really take a toll on kiddos. But better safe than sorry, I’m glad you took him into the hospital.

  5. Glad y’all made it home safely. Hope Charlie shakes those sniffles. Hanna passed us by with minimal effects. But I see Ike is on his way now. Hope he passes y’all by…take care!

Hey girl… my computer is still acting up a bit and it’s actually going to let me leave a comment! I’m SO sorry that you had to spend some time at the Hospital, but better to be safe than sorry! So, that’s a good thing that you guys were in Little Rock. I just love Children’s. Did you guys get any damage from the storm? I sure hope not! That’s good that you are on the north side of the lake!

    Big Hugs to you!
